When people ask me how long I have been playing volleyball, I like to say "Since before I was born." Believe it or not, this is partially true. My mother played volleyball when she was pregnant with me. I first played on a team in third grade when I played through my church. My love for volleyball started the first time I bumped a ball and I have been hooked ever since. My ambitions have pushed me to become the best player I possibly can and playing at the college level is a step closer to achieving that goal.
On the court, I am competitive, aggressive, and I always give 110% for every play. I enjoy cheering on my teammates when they do well. The best thing for the team to succeed is more important than my individual success. That being said, there is no better feeling than slamming the ball down and watching it hit the court, inbounds of course.
In the classroom, I excel in most subjects especially History, English, and Latin. I pride myself in making academics a priority because without brains, brawn is nothing. I have positive relationships with many of my teachers and coaches and I go to them for advice when I need it.
I would not be a good candidate to add to your volleyball program, but a fantastic one. Most people only aspire to have fun and "get through" college with a degree, but I aspire to do so much more. I do not just want to "get through" college. I want to make something of the time I spend in the classroom and on the court. I am more than willing to challenge myself to do better and only huge successes are in my future.
