Hello, my name is Erika Spear and I am currently a Sophomore at South Oldham High school. I was on varsity this school season, and would play middle hitter, outside hitter, and occasionally rightside hitter. For club, I currently play for Union on the Asics #2 team. I started playing in 6th grade and couldn't imagine my life without the sport. In regards to character, I see myself as a determined and confident young woman both on and off the court. My positive yet intense energy, helps my team support one another no matter what. Because of my strong drive to be the best I can be, I love to push myself to the limit physically. My background in competitive gymnastics (9-12 years old) has given me a strong foundation for the strength in my vertical, the explosiveness in my hits, and my endurance on the court. I have received several awards during the 5 seasons I participated in for school volleyball. My list of awards include: Coaches Award 2014 SOMS, MVP 2015 SOMS, JV Coaches Award 2016 SOHS, Varsity Newcomer Award 2016 SOHS. Alongside volleyball, academics are equally important to me. In 2016, I was given the Perfect Attendance Award along with the Beta Club Award as Secretary. In addition to Beta Club, I participated in KUNA and was a member of my schools math team.
I hope you will see the passion I have for this sport. Thank you for your time.
