Grace Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

I am Grace, and I’m an outside hitter/middle blocker. What I love about volleyball is it’s team-centered nature. Nothing about volleyball is really about one single person-every play requires a team effort, and the momentum of the game is determined by the attitude of the entire team.

What makes me a great candidate for your team is my competitive nature and drive to lift others up. I love winning, but I also don’t hate losing- every loss is an opportunity to strive higher and work harder. I also love lifting others up through servant leadership and putting others before myself. I captained my JV team as both a freshman and sophomore, and captained my varsity team as a sophomore and junior, through all of which I did my best to lift up my team through all of the ups and downs.

What sets me apart from other recruits is that I am willing to put 100% of the effort that comes with being a student-athlete in college. Not only will I give my all in practice and conditioning, but strive to maintain a higher-than-average GPA.
