Emily Swanson '21 Recruiting Profile

Since early on, I have had a goal to play volleyball in college.  I have had the unique opportunity through the small private school I attend, to learn several positions on the court.   While my strengths are setting and hitting, I have covered middle and blocking in prior seasons.  My character on the court is different from when I'm off the court with friends.  On the court, I am focused and determined to work hard; even leading my team with calling plays throughout the game.  Off the court I am more fun-loving and enjoy spending time with friends.  While I have fun playing volleyball, I tend to push myself because I want to reach my goals of playing college ball.  Academically, I have struggled with test taking, but continue to work hard to overcome these challenges.  I am committed to do what it takes to keep my grades high and concur the requirements of the ACT for college entry; including ongoing group and private tutoring to strengthen each area of study with the ACT.  While my composite has not yet increased, my individual competencies are improving.
