Throughout the past 17 years I’ve been alive, my parents have picked me up when I’ve fallen, they’ve made me laugh when I’ve cried, and they’ve helped me thrive despite my mistakes. My mother is an ambitious woman with an incessant need to help people. My father is an intuitive man with strong morals. They are my role models. When I finally choose a college and it’s volleyball program, it will be a place where I can choose a career path and thrive. It will be a place where I can make lifelong connections to people who share the same aspirations. It will be a place where I can discover who I am and become a leader on the court and off. It will be a place where I can become my best self: a role model.
