Personal Statement
I have been playing volleyball for 5 years. Before I began playing volleyball, I played competitive softball for 10 years but for family reasons, I had to give up the sport. During my transition from softball to volleyball, I learned how to stay positive even when you do not know where life is taking you. While quitting softball was hard it was a blessing in disguise because it lead me to volleyball. Since starting volleyball, I've found myself to be more outgoing and determined. It has taught me that everything has to be earned and nothing is just given to you. Because of my height, I have had to push myself harder physically and mentally than most people on my teams.
During sophomore year I switched positions midseason from setter to libero. This switch came as a surprise but I was determined to excel no matter what. I am looking for a school that can meet not only my athletic needs but also my academic needs because academics are very important to me. I fully believe I can make a resounding influence on your team through my determined, hardworking attitude, unrelenting drive, leadership skills, and athletic capability!
