Since I first stepped on a volleyball court at the age of 9, I have had a passion for volleyball. I know it takes hard work and commitment to be successful. I always wanted to play at the highest level and I look forward to playing as a college athlete while pursuing my degree. I am a setter and enjoy when I am able to assist in a kill. I also enjoy the mental part of the game and having to make quick decisions that puts our team in the best position to win. The setter is the leader on the court and I am also a leader off the court. I am our Class President, involved in Student Council and represented my Freshman class on the Homecoming Court.
I believe my best quality is my commitment. I travel 3 hours one-way multiple times a week to practice with my club team. Even though I spend a lot of time in a car, I think it will pay off in the end. I have this same commitment with my academics by only missing 3 days in the last 10 years and this was only to play in 3-day volleyball tournaments.
I am known to be a supportive and encouraging teammate as well as a coachable player. I try to live each day based on my favorite quote which I think also defines a setter: “Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life; it’s what you inspire others to do.” - Unknown
