Hi, my name is Alexyss Chartier, I began playing volleyball in 7th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. I played for both my high school, Blackstone Millville Regional and Blast volleyball club. I began as a middle hitter and quickly adapted to the position but wanted more exposure as an all-around player so when the opportunity was given, I stepped up and became an outside hitter. It took time to adjust but with training at home and criticism from my coaches, I took it upon myself to work harder each day. Since then, I have been doing personal training at Agile Volleyball Academy. During my school season as a sophomore, I played a major role, leading the team with the highest number of kills, with 210 along with receiving most valuable player and Dual Valley Conference 1st All Star team. This significantly helped my team during our season to finish as district champions of the Central Mass. Fall Tournament. This past year I went to CMASS Juniors volleyball club and made the top open level team for U16. With this came a huge opportunity for me to go to national tournaments like Capitol Hill Classic, Big South, and AAU Nationals in Orlando.
I consider myself a hard worker who is willing to learn each day and adapt to whatever is asked of me. Over the years of playing volleyball, it has taught me many things, one being able to step out of my comfort zone on and off the court and two, becoming a coachable player. Being able to balance volleyball and academics continues to be my main goal and priority. Academically, I've had mainly all A's with one or two B's. I am in all honors classes and was inducted into the National Honor Society at BMR.
