Sophia Young '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Sophia Young, and I am a senior at Plymouth High School (PHS) in Canton Michigan. I’m in the International Baccalaureate program with a 3.8 GPA and will be graduating in 2024. One of the main reasons I started playing volleyball is because my mom signed me up in the CYO volleyball league when I was in 4th grade. I say this because my family has been with me since day one, and they have always supported me in my academics and sports. At PHS I started as a freshman on the varsity volleyball team and am excited to play one more year as a senior.

I am currently playing DS for my club team; and I am always ready to be subbed in as an outside hitter. This volleyball club season has been unique and has afforded me opportunities to also play as setter and libero. One of the things I am known for is being a versatile and coachable player on the court because of my ability to take constructive criticism. I have a positive mindset and am able to handle the constant pressures and stress of the game.

To tell you a little bit more about myself, I love to socialize and spend time with friends. I Love the idea of community and keeping it strong. I have also played multiple sports like basketball and track. I am very school focused, so a good amount of time is spent on my studies. For college I am interested in the medical field (interested in Pharmacy and Physician Assistant).
