Personal Statement
My collegiate goals include getting a first class education and being challenged in all aspects of education and athletics. I am planning to study hard to pursue a future career in Finance, while improving my skills in volleyball and working to perfect them as much as possible. When I think about my potential collegiate volleyball future, I will work and give 100% effort to be a key player towards my team’s improvement, as well as each player’s individual development; and ultimately, grow together as a team.
Like many of my peers, I enjoy the hard work and challenge it takes to become a top level player. I work to challenge myself every practice, so I am ready for any scenario on the court. However; I am different than my peers as well. I believe that you play like you practice; that’s why I always give 100% effort both at practice, but also in the gym for individual workouts, and at home on my personal court. I don’t believe in allowing a weak area of my game to remain a weak area. I work to drive that weak area into a strength. This dedication to my game has resulted in being the only freshman on Varsity this year; and I routinely started. My development through high school and club volleyball has been quick and I am excited for the next 3 years of my high school and club career. At some point during my high school career, I have full confidence I will be selected as a first team All-State player at my position. I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I work towards my goals by seeking out and receiving as much constructive feedback from my coaches and teammates as possible. I enjoy practicing outside of practice at home with my teammates to continue to improve and encourage each other to always look for a way to get better.
Although my love for volleyball and dream to play collegiately are important, my ultimate goal is to receive the highest academic education possible to provide the future I have always desired for myself and future family. I am a diligent student/athlete. To prepare myself for college academics, I enroll in any AP class available for my grade, study hard, and never allow any academic question I have to not be understood.
