I am the youngest child in a family of volleyball players, my sisters made sure I have been playing since I could walk. As a result, I developed a deep love for volleyball. Their coaching influenced me to work harder, compete, and reach their skill level while being open to learning better ways of doing things. We have a lot of fun playing volleyball together and I know I’ll love volleyball for the rest of my life. I like being a setter because I love to see my hitters thrive, it’s fast-paced, it’s really fun, and it is a leadership position on the court. I work hard to be a good leader anytime I play. My view of leadership requires each of us to do what is best for the whole group instead of only thinking of yourself. This is different than leading for power and authority. I know it is important to uplift my teammates and encourage them, together we can have a great time and accomplish great things.
