Hello,
My name is Elizama De La Cruz, I am 17 years old, and will be graduating 2025. I have played volleyball for 8 years and have always loved to be part of this sport. I am a right hand dominant and outside hitter, I am open to any position as I love the game, and also willing to grow and learn more form my mistakes. I currently live in the small town of Beatty, Nevada. It is a small school made up of two towns totaling about 150 students. I started playing my 6th grade year and fell in love with the sport. By my 7th grade I was already serving over hand and attempting to block and spike. Once I was able to reach over the net it became a feeling I wanted to pursue. I constantly strive to be better and would love to continue on this sport in college as well. Due to growing up in a small town and low income I was very limited to camps and competition. This did not stop the passion I wanted to follow, after practice we would head to our local park and set up a net and I would practice on my mistakes from games. I wanted to be the best I could and living in Beatty was not going to stop me. I was made varsity my freshman year and wanted to prove to my coach she had not made a mistake. When I became captain it was very important to me for my team to know that we were in this together and I was going to be the best help I could be. Being able to listen to my team and watch for our mistakes always helped me improve as a player and a team mate also. The resources were very limited but my heart was in it and I was not giving up. I feel like I can bring a lot to my team with orientation and dedication as I do not give up until I am where I want to be. While in school I would love to study in the medical field, helping animals is something very important to me. I have wanted to join the veterinary field since I was young. My love for animals began when I was 2, my father is a horse trainer and I was constantly around them. The trust and love my dad had with these horses always drew me to learning more about these amazing creatures. I was able to travel with my dad a lot and saw real veterinary work and how a horse was so appreciative after the care and love they received. To be able to help my dad with his equine passion growing up it slowly became what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I trust that you will notice my talent and give me the chance to show you I am worth your while.
