Hi, I am Anastasia!
Volleyball has always been a sport that caught my eye ever since I was in elementary school and discovered what it was. When I finally decided to try it for myself I immediately fell in love with it. The speed of the game, the feeling when you get an ace, a kill, a block, a good dig; I wanted to experience this over and over again. I play volleyball because I love the sport with a passion, and I have found a place in the volleyball community where I belong and I never want to let that go. I have a strong jump float serve, speed on the court (I prefer running quicker plays but am comfortable when out of system), and I carefully read the other team in order to time my block properly.
On and off the court I always try to keep my teammates' spirits up when things don't turn out as they planned because I know half of volleyball is all in your head. It is not always about who can hit the ball the hardest, but it is about who plays the smartest. Whatever team can always keeps their hopes up and plays every point like its the last one is the team that is going to be successful, and I hope to help make whatever team I am on this one. In addition to playing volleyball in college I would like to continue my study in computer science.
Currently I attend Bergen County Academies and am in the Academy of Technology and Computer Science, so I have explored programming and computers already, but can't get enough of it. This school is strenuous so I had to learn how to balance my workload with high school and club volleyball, and I have successfully done this to put equal effort into volleyball and school, and be successful in both. I am a quick learner and maintain a 3.9+ GPA. I can't wait to continue my journey in college, and give it my all!
