A goal that I am driven to accomplish in my near future is to play volleyball at the college level. I have participated in many extracurricular activities in my life such as basketball, softball, and swimming. However, my passion for volleyball has grown to such a high level and I have made it the central focus of my athletic interests. I began to play volleyball during the summer going into my freshman year of high school and my dedication to the sport has continued to grow ever since. I am unique among candidates because of my versatility, attitude, and mindset as a volleyball player. Over the past three years of playing volleyball, I have received the guidance and knowledge of many coaches and mentors and have learned many different techniques and valuable lessons that I implement into my playing and life in general. I have been a setter throughout all three years of my volleyball career thus far, and have recently taken on the role of a right-side hitter. However, wherever my coaches and teammates need me the most, I am prepared to play the position and execute to the best of my ability by giving 100% at all times. I am always ready to learn new skills and tactics to better my abilities and grow as a valuable and reliable teammate. A very important lesson I have learned about volleyball is that the outcome of the game is dependent on the collaboration between the team members and the mindset of you and your teammates. I continually strive to exhibit a positive and encouraging attitude both on and off the court. I hope to pursue my academic career in the sciences, particularly biology. The driven mindset I display on the court derives from the motivated and persistent mentality I have developed throughout my academic career. I have always pushed myself to work my hardest and give it my all in my academic and athletic careers and it has helped me develop into the player and person I am today.
