I have been playing volleyball since my eighth grade year. Throughout the years of school and club ball I have completely fallen in love with the sport. I remember going through a hard decision process my freshman year concerning soccer and volleyball. I knew to be the best that I could be I needed to pick one. Playing soccer for eight years, and knowing I was good enough to make it far made me want to choose it, but I lost the love for it. In my opinion you have to love something to truly be good at it, so I stuck with volleyball.
With my senior year quickly approaching I’ve been searching for colleges that fit my interests, and yours really caught my eye. I would love to be apart of**********, because of your great athletic department and the astonishing academic opportunities your school offers. My family is considered to be a big family. I’m the middle of three brothers and a sister, and I just want to make everyone proud.
In eighth grade I was a 6-2 setter, and when in the front row played left front. As a freshman I played as an outside hitter, and I played left back for myself for both the freshman and JV teams. After the freshman and JV season came to an end I continued to move up and went to regionals with the varsity team as a freshman. Going into my sophomore year my position stayed the same, and I started on the JV team, and suited up with varsity. I received my Broken Arrow varsity letter my sophomore year. At the start of my junior year I stopped playing for JV, and was the starting hitter on varsity. Going into my senior year my coaches have told me I’m going to be in the same position.
My peers and coaches see me as a positive leader on and off the court. Coach bullen always tells me “ everyone follows your attitude.” When my spirit is up my team has a very high spirit as well, and that helps us keep the energy to win games.
Throughout my years in high school I have maintained a 3.7 GPA. I have not taken my ACT yet, but I am scheduled to take it in March. I’m hoping to do well so I can have opportunities for scholarships. I would love the chance to meet you and potentially play for your school.
