My name is Bella Jakob. I am a senior at Cathedral Academy in North Charleston, South Carolina. I have played on the Varsity Volleyball team since seventh grade, and played on the Palmetto Strikers Travel Club Team since fifth grade. On both of these teams, I have played as a Libero. However, I am a very versatile player, I can also fill in as a setter and a defensive specialist when needed. Throughout the time that I have played volleyball, I have had the opportunity to help run volleyball camps in which I help coach and mentor younger volleyball players and/or those new to the sport. Also, I have attended many camps and seminars to keep me at the top of my game. Further, I have participated in summer grass and beach volleyball tournaments always placing either first or second in my age bracket. Even though I have played and excelled in multiple sports (gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and softball) in my young life, volleyball definitely has stolen my heart. Thus, I always look forward to stepping out on the court and giving it 100%, not only for me, but for my team as well. This past year, I was named team captain, All Region Player of the Year, North/South Tournament Player, Defensive Player of the Year (for my fourth year). Ultimately, I would love to continue to fulfill my dream by pursuing volleyball at the collegiate level.
