Personal Statement
I have attended Covenant Academy, a college-prep classical school, since kindergarten and I am now a Junior. When I reached 6th grade, volleyball was the newest sport at my school and I decided to give it a try. I immediately fell in love with it. I quit all other sports I was playing at the time and fully focused on volleyball. However, it was just for fun until I reached 8th grade, my third year playing volleyball. By 8th grade I knew I wanted to get serious and play in college. Unfortunately I didn't know how to pursue my dream and wasn't able to afford club. I continued to put everything I had into every practice, striving to get better everyday. However, I grew the most as an athlete when my team didn't make it to playoffs in 2019, losing by one set and getting 4th place. This showed my team how we can grow more as a family and as players. Our loss encouraged us to strive not just to make playoffs next year, but to win 1st place. Now, we are continuing to train harder than ever and pursue are goal.
Over the years of playing volleyball, I have learned to value the importance of teamwork and commitment. I believe these are crucial for both daily and academic life. At Covenant Academy, I am pushed to do the very best of my ability and challenged to perform at a higher level. In college, I hope to pursue a business degree and go on to be a entrepreneur. I am looking for a college that will challenge me to grow academically and athletically.
