Personal Statement
Hi! I'm Brooke Marak and I am from the Dallas/Fort Worth area which is known as one of the most competitive areas in the state of Texas for playing volleyball. I have been playing volleyball since 3rd grade and love the sport. I am a hard worker who never gives up both on and off the court. I push myself to get stronger both physically and mentally in my game play and in my academics. My goal is to continue my volleyball career at the collegiate level and earn a Bachelor's Degree in nursing/radiology or possibly pursue coaching. I am still undecided, but know I want to continue with my goal of helping people.
I have been described as a leader both on and off the court. I strive to be my best and win, but of course I know that I continue to learn from every game, win or loss. I am a team player and help my teammates anyway that I can. I am always available to be a listening ear for my fellow teammates and notice when someone may be struggling. I love being part of team and coming together with others to reach a common goal.
This year I am playing club for the top 17's team at Ft. Worth Fire and am very excited to get the club season going! I love the challenge, skill work and growth that comes from playing club volleball. I have previously played on top level club teams at both Club Texas Volleyball(2020-2021) and 360 Kaos Volleyball(2021-2022). Another thing I have learned about myself from playing club volleyball is that I love to travel! Traveling to play in tournaments all around the country has been exciting and has fueled my excitement to hopefully get to travel with a collegiate team one day!
I currently have a 4.6 GPA(5.0 scale) and work hard to stay on top of my classes while keeping up with my classes, volleyball, part time job, and hanging out with family and friends.
