Hello! My name is Sara Welch, I’m a setter representing the class of 2023. I started playing competitive volleyball my Freshman year and made my high school Varsity team this year as a Sophomore. I was the youngest on my team and had to earn my stripes, nothing was without hard work this year, especially since it was a “Rona Season” (Covid-19, a shorter season). As a sophomore I earned 2nd team All District and my coaches awarded me with the teams Will-to-Win award! This year I got voted to be on an All Tournament Team and I'm now on the AVCA Phenom Players to Watch list! I am a very energetic and passionate setter with a level-head and a mind for the strategic parts of the game. I’m very competitive and enjoy winning, however, when a loss comes along I look at it as a learning opportunity and a way to improve my skills even further.
I play for Club Texas 17 Elite, who is currently #5 in the North Texas Region, and I'm so excited to be continuing my volleyball journey with this team! I plan on coming pretty close to perfecting my skills this season and learn as much as I can before my 18's year. I earned the 5-1 position at my High School my Junior year! I also earned the First Team All District award my Junior year!
My goal is to play at the collegiate level and obtain my degree in Pre-Med/Biology! I one day hope to become a Spinal PA. I realize becoming a PA alone is challenging, but I’m always excited for a challenge and work hard to persevere! My GPA is currently 4.0 but I continue to work hard to keep my grades high.
