Personal Statement
I am a great teammate with dedication, determination, drive, and desire to be a part of a family of athletes at a college or university. I am dedicated to making myself and my teammates the best volleyball players possible through hard work and commitment to ourselves, our team, our coaches, and our school. This can only happen through strong determination from everyone on the team. However, I know that I have to be willing to help others be just as determined as I am. The drive for volleyball was instilled in me at a very early age. I attended my first two-a-day practices with my mom when I was only five days old. She and my dad were coaches at the time, so I just grew up with a volleyball and very quickly found great love and desire for the sport. This desire pushed me to start playing club volleyball in the fourth grade.
I am an excellent student in the classroom as well. I am a straight "A" student while taking honors classes as well as Pre-AP classes, and dual credit classes. I am able to maintain great scores in these classes while competing on the varsity volleyball team and club volleyball.I am involved in tons of community service projects as well. As a volleyball team, we serve in the community soup kitchen several times throughout the year. We also visit the nursing homes and serve meals or ice cream to the residents. I was the assistant coach for a 12U team in our club this year. This provided me with a new perspective on the game that I will use while I am playing. I am actively involved in church youth programs and have been a leader in the church youth group as a member of the praise team.
I am very excited to find the college that is the perfect fit for me. I want to compete at the highest level possible while being challenged in a strong academic environment. Education is very important to me, and I feel that it is the aspect that makes me a better volleyball player. I use my educational background to make smart decisions on and off the court.
