Personal Statement
Hello Future Coach!
My name is Amanda Gore. I attend Cortona Academy in Herndon, Virginia. I currently play for Vienna Elite Volleyball Club and serve as their starting middle blocker and one of the team captains. I am a hard worker on the court as well as in the classroom. I am a strong leader and I put my team first. I am looking for a small school preferably 1,000-8,000 students, because I have learned that I work better in smaller classroom environments. As of now my major is undecided so I am looking for a school that offers a lot of variety.
My freshman and sophomore year I played high school varsity volleyball for Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, VA. I was a starter my sophomore year and my team and I won the WCAC, our conference, and placed 2nd in VISAA. I received WCAC Honorable Mention. The school I attend now unfortunately does not have a volleyball team. In the meantime, I have been strength conditioning, doing Vertimax, and private skill training 5-6 days a week. I have increased my vertical 4 and 1/2 inches in 8 weeks. With this time my goal is to strengthen my body and become a more versatile player.
Outside of volleyball and school my other passions include volunteering and singing. I love helping people in need because it is so rewarding. I also have been singing since I was four and would like to continue that in the College or University I attend.
Not only am I passionate about volleyball, but I am eager to learn more about the game. I am a well rounded student-athlete, and put 110% into everything I do. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
