My name is Madelyn Frederick, and I am a 15-year-old defensive specialist/pin hitter attending McLean High School. I have played club volleyball for 5 years and I am currently on the Virginia Elite 15's team. Over the course of my club volleyball career I have received several awards, including the Coaches Award, Teamwork Award (voted by my teammates), and was a starting captain my 14s year. My coaches have consistently noted my positive attitude, strong work ethic, coachability, and leadership skills. I am passionate about being a team player and creating a supportive environment for my teammates and myself to thrive in. As an all-honors student, I am extremely committed to academics and earn all A's while taking the most rigorous classes my high school has to offer. In addition to playing volleyball year round, I am a journalist for my school's magazine, I compete on the speech and debate team, and I enjoy regularly volunteering at the local food bank and military nonprofit organizations.
