It all started with a little back yard fun. When I was six years old my grandmother bought a volleyball net for me and my cousins . I had played soccer since I was four and when third grade came , I decided to try out for volleyball as an alternate sport . I made the team and we won the county championship that year. I continued to play both sports for the next few years placing second and third in county championships.
At this point came my sixth grade year, both sports were overlapping and I had to choose. There was no debating which I enjoyed more. I played volleyball for my school sixth through eighth grade seasons. After sixth grade season, I played for a travel team and at which time we realized that my size and talents were proven best as a setter/libero. I went to several summer camps each year and used the availability of our church gym to practice and progress my skills.
Over the course of time, I grew as a player, teammate and person. Volleyball has molded me into who I am today. As much as I enjoy volleyball my academics are equally important. I have maintained a 4.0 gpa over my middle school years and my goal is to go to college for Physical Therapy while continuing my volleyball career.
