Teegan Charapata '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Teegan Charapata. I am a proven leader and competitor who knows how to win by doing it the right way.  I have always had challenges thrown at me like moving from a small town to a small city, switching from a small volleyball club to a big volleyball club, and transitioning from a small school to a large one.  I established new routines with working out and skill training, earned my spot with the top volleyball club in the state for my age group, and I established new friends.  All this change has taught me that I need to work hard and be a leader, and even more so while overcoming adversity. I started my volleyball journey play opposite, middle hitter, setter, and then worked my way to being a spinning outside.  I helped my team place second at nationals while being recognized as a member of the JVA Nationals All-Tournament team. The high school season after that I was asked to play middle because two division 1 commit seniors held the outside spots.  I was ready for the challenge.  One month into the season, I was leading our conference in blocking and hitting percentage. I loved the challenge of adversity as I learned to enhance my shot making skills.  Last season, I became a spinning outside on the 3rd ranked division 1 high school team in the state.  I am consistently in the gym working on my skills, weight training, and doing plyometrics.  My goal is to be an all around player who can help my team win in any way needed.  The fact that I am skilled in every position is what makes me special as a player.  I know that success is not only defined by how hard I work but also how strong I am at rallying a team toward a common goal. I was chosen to be captain for my varsity team as a junior, and take every opportunity to support our younger athletes and set the bar for what hard work looks like with my teammates. I enjoy taking the leadership role and helping my teammates accomplish our goals of both doing well at tournaments and doing it in the right way. I am hopeful I find a coach who will bet on me for a college opportunity. I promise you that I will make that bet pay back in a big way with my skills, winning mindset, and leadership.
