Personal Statement
Volleyball has taught me so many important life skills that have made me a better player as the years have passed. One of them being that whenever you make a mistake you can’t let it get to your head, you have to learn how to let the last play go or it will keep you from the growth you are looking for. I have also learned that in order to get better, you must practice until you can’t go anymore. And if you want something you have to work for it, it won’t come easy.
In my high school career I have played at the varsity level. And one of the hardest tasks was going from the junior high level to the varsity level. But I feel that when you push yourself to play at that level, it will make you a more competitive player. My freshman year I had to work to gain my varsity spot. And my sophomore year I got the opportunity to play a new position. And my love for the game has done nothing but grow ever since the first time I stepped on the court in 5th grade. My junior year i was the starting varsity setter and the first server. I had the opp to not only compete at the Wyoming state volleyball tournament, but also play in the state title game. I was awarded all conference, most assists at the varsity level, and the MVP award for my team.
