Personal Statement
My two goals for college are to excel academically and to become an NCAA Champion. I'm a 4 time high school All American with my sights set on becoming an NCAA D1 All American. I would be a great candidate for your University because of my deep desire to be successful on and off the mat. Now that I have started my Senior year, I realize that my college decision is a 50 year decision, not a 4 year decision. Finding the right academic fit is as important as finding the right team fit. A wrestling team becomes your family with common goals; to become champions for our school, and champions in life. I have been Castle View High School's Wrestling Team Captain for three years, I enjoy being a team leader in the wrestling room, but also representing our team on behalf of the school. I try to motivate my team by setting good examples and working hard everyday. My high school Coach is former Olympian Ike Anderson. I am grateful that I've had such an accomplished Coach at the high school level, and that he has provided me the opportunity to consistently train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. I am known for being a hard worker, good listener, and being very coachable.
I'm currently ranked 20th on Flo Wrestling for the class of 2018. I became a 4 time All-American in Fargo this summer with a 4th place finish in Greco. I placed 6th at the US OPEN in the UWW Junior Greco Roman division in April 2017. I placed 4th at the NHSCA Folkstyle Nationals in Virginia Beach at 170 pounds in March, 2017, and I was also a Fargo Cadet All American in 2015. I am currently the Colorado State 5A Champion at 170 pounds, I was undefeated with a record of 44-0 as a Junior, an overall Varsity record of 112-21. I have been the Colorado State Champion in Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco in the Junior, Cadet and Schoolboy divisions. I am dedicated and willing do anything and everything I can to be successful. I'm looking forward to continuing my education in college, while participating in the sport I love.
