2023-2024 seasonWrestling has been a constant in my life since I was four years old. What started as weekend tournaments in local gyms quickly grew into a lifelong passion, shaping my discipline, resilience, and drive to improve every single day. Now, as a high school sophomore, I’m committed more than ever to growing as a person and becoming a better wrestler. I’m looking for a college program that will push me to be the best version of myself, as a wrestler, student, and person.
In my freshman year, I competed at 106 pounds, finishing with a 24-19 record and placing 5th at regionals. I’ve since committed to wrestling year-round, stepping away from soccer after freshman year to focus only on the sport I love. Was voted by the coaches at the underclassman team MVP my freshman year.
My sophomore season was a step forward, I wrestled at both 120 and 113 pounds, finished with a 26-7 record, and placed 4th at regionals. I was on track for a state appearance before pneumonia forced me to miss out. It was tough, but it fueled my hunger to come back stronger. Was voted team MVP by the coaches for my sophomore season.
Academically, I’m holding a 3.33 weighted GPA while challenging myself with AP and honors courses including AP US History, AP Human Geography, Honors Algebra, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Biology, and Honors Chemistry. While I’m still exploring what I want to study in college, I know I want to be somewhere that values both strong academics and a good wrestling culture.
My goal is to compete at 125 pounds in college, and I’m looking for a program that will invest in my potential and help me develop as a wrestler, student, and leader. I’m eager to learn, work hard, and bring intensity and commitment to everything I do. Wrestling has taught me how to face adversity, and I’m excited to take that mindset with me to the next level.
Thank you for considering me for your program.
Sincerely,
Logan Vickers
