Jacob Taplin '24 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a junior in high school in Osakis, MN. I had a 4.0 gpa though my freshman and sophomore years. My cumulative gpa is now 3.8 with all college classes this year. I am a three-sport athlete which includes cross country, wrestling, and track. I am by far the most passionate about wrestling. I did not grow up in a wrestling family. I joined because my friend from church was good at wrestling. In elementary I just had fun with it but especially my 8th grade year, I really started to put in the work. I went from a season record of 18-25 my 8th grade year to a record of 26-4 and being a state qualifier my freshman year. My sophomore year I had a record of 36-8 and a state qualifier. I then went to Virginia Beach and went 2-2. I wrestled some freestyle and greco along with some other offseason wrestling. With my determined mind and a very hard work ethic I will continue to improve and am aiming to be a 2x State Champ and then go on to wrestle in college.
