What is an NCAA ID number and How Do I Get One?
An NCAA ID number is a unique identification number assigned to student-athletes by the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) to track their eligibility and participation in collegiate sports.
To get an NCAA ID number go to the NCAA Eligibility Center website, create either a Certification Account or Profile Page account, and complete the initial registration process to get your NCAA ID number.
How to Find Your NCAA ID number
Access your NCAA Eligibility Center account by visiting eligibilitycenter.org. Your NCAA ID appears in the top-right corner, positioned just below your name.

What are NCAA Eligibility requirements?
NCAA Eligibility requirements include meeting academic standards and following amateurism guidelines. NCAA Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules can also effect your eligibility.

How long does the NCAA Eligibility Center process take?
The process continues through high school and ends when a college confirms your eligibility.
- Create an account early in high school
- Submit transcripts by junior year
- Send final transcripts after graduation
Insider Tip: If you enroll early (common for elite level D1 athletes playing in the fall) or have a unique situation coming out of junior college, your process may look slightly different. Keeping your Certification Account kept up to date is essential.
