What the Coaches are Saying...
Jan 16, 2019

“An ideal recruit is a skilled softball player who has a passion for the sport. Intangibles are critical to our success: work ethic, leadership, dealing with adversity, good teammate. Edgewood has student athletes with emphasis on student, our program facilitates the ability for our athletes to have the time needed for studies. We are most proud of the number of athletes who progress to graduate studies. Our indoor practice facility is a new shared facility with the University of Wisconsin.”

—Coach JP Richards

“2019 Needs: Pitcher, Catcher, SS My philosophy outside of pitcher, catcher and Shortstop all other players can adapt. Typically a freshman class is 6-8 by the time they reach senior year retention of 40-50 percent. Most important outside of talent is passion for the game of softball. We are a private school D-3 so grades and ACT make us affordable. I typically have a 3 hour rule outside of driving distance is hard to justify. ”

—Coach JP Richards
