My name is Rowan Sanchez and I’m a 6’0 shortstop for Foreman High School. My goal is to play at a competitive program that matches my capability, playing style, and opportunity. Ever since I started playing baseball I’ve fallen in love with it and want to play ball for as long as possible. My mom along with my family have supported me til this day, so I want to thank them for giving me the opportunity to play and write about this statement. I’ve learned that being a shortstop growing up takes a lot of leadership and the reason why I say that is because you have to be aware of hitters, runners, and pitches at all times. In my family academics come first before anything, and I’m proud to say that I have maintained a 3.75 gpa. My high school and college goal are to constantly have a 3.0 gpa or higher, and I want to major in architecture. The toughest obstacle I have had this year was that this is my first year of playing varsity, it was an adjustment having to get used to better pitching and better players. My biggest asset for a team is I’m a leader and a hard worker, meaning I’m going to give you my best in practice, games, and off the field. I think by doing that it helps me become a better player and a better teammate whether it means getting clutch hits or laying out for a ball. By any means I’ll do whatever to help my teammates and win. My relationships with my teammates, classmates, and coaches are very good. My loyalty for the game and my team mean very much to me and I’m always trying to get better anywhere and anytime. I’m just a young man with dreams and goals.
