My name is Parker Epperson. I am 15 years old, with my primary position being second base, with a secondary position as a pitcher. My primary objective is to ensure academic and personal growth. For this reason, I take AP courses in school, with plans to have 36 hours of college credit upon completion of high school, and a focus on Business once I enter college. My aspiration is to be a role model like Nate Freeman, who mentored me in my early years. Nate was small in stature and was not allowed much playing time in high school. He was talented enough to get a partial scholarship, where through proper nutrition, weight training, and academics, he was able to excel. He is now the starting pitcher for a semi-professional team, the Fort Smith Marshals.
My aspiration is to not only excel academically but also contribute meaningfully to the campus community. Teamwork, leadership and mentorship are key character traits that I strive to share and demonstrate to others. I know I can definitely learn from others as well. Being a student athlete inherently places you in a position to be a mentor for some. Being a positive role model are key to my focus on academia and to hone my athletic skills.
