Dear Coach,
My name is Amit Waisleder, and I'm a Class of 2023 Outfielder from San Jose, Costa Rica.
My goal is to play baseball at a collegiate level, with the purpose of obtaining a degree, while playing and further developing skills from the sport I love, helping my teammates and having the honor of representing our school.
While I have played the game since an early age, for the past 6 years I’ve been playing baseball at a high level in Costa Rica, participating and obtaining a gold medal in the 2021 Costa Rican National Youth Games with the Under-20 San Jose team, and participating in the National Under-23 Costa Rican Baseball Championship.
In order to further develop my game, I’ve also attended baseball camps in the US: at the University of Miami (2017) and at IMG Academy (2021, 2022).
In school, I’m an IB (International Baccalaurate) student with a 90/100 GPA. I’ve also participated in multiple voluntary in-school academic competitions.
I’m a member in a youth movement called “Hanoar Hatzioni”, a voluntary organization in which we teach younger kids about Judaism, its tradition, history and culture. My current position is group leader, in charge of 5th grade boys.
I play guitar and electric bass during my free time as well as part of a school band. Golf is another sport that I love and devote time and energy. It is my belief that golf and music, just like baseball, require constant practice, discipline and passion.
I would consider the possibility of playing baseball at college not only as a great experience which will certainly enrich my academic process, but also a great honor, responsibility, and opportunity to work with my team towards a common goal.
Thank you in advance for reviewing my NCSA profile, and for giving me the chance of being a productive student and an impactful player.
Amit Waisleder
