Personal Statement
Baseball is more than a sport it is a passion. Over the few years that I have played the game, I have learned that if I work hard it can pay off. The “Work hard because it pays off “motto has driven my passion for success both on and off the field. As a result, Hard Work and Success have now started becoming a major part of who I am.
I started playing baseball when I was 5 years old. Over time, it started to be a passion in my life. I have gone from playing in county leagues and teams, to out of county travel teams and leagues as well. I look for opportunities to play, even on off weekends. Often, I’m asked to play on different teams, I always appreciate the opportunity to contribute to a team. I enjoy helping a team to a victory, even if it is just “picking up” a down teammate or having the winning RBI. Baseball can be humbling as well. Failure makes it necessary to focus on the positives of the game and my team’s performance. You must learn to throw away the failure and commit to working on the skills needed to be successful next time.
My parents have always repeated to me “Work hard, both, on and off the field,” developing this commitment has led to maintaining good grades with a 3.5+ GPA. I give it my all on the field as well as in the classroom. Hopefully this combination will allow me to fulfill my dream of getting a good education and to play college-level baseball. I am committed to finding a program that would allow me to develop into a better player, student, and person.
