Hello,
My name is Joe Fagan, I am a 2023 graduate at Summit High School in Summit, New Jersey. I am a catcher and 16 years old. I am looking to go to college not only to play baseball but also to receive an education that will help me beyond college. I have a 3.9 GPA and enjoy classes in all subjects, I push myself to be the best I can be in the classroom and on the field. Being a catcher I take pride in having a relationship with my pitchers as well as other teammates, having a bond that goes further than the field is something me and my family hold to be very important. I enjoy working with coaches and pitchers to better understand them and how we can work to be the most successful. I believe that I can continue this at the collegiate level through working with coaches, teammates, and educators to help me in my college career.

- Coaches evaluation(2019)- Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 4 for 7. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

- Joseph Fagan is a 2023 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Summit, NJ who attends Summit. Medium, well-proportioned frame with some present lower half strength and room to fill out. Primary catcher that receives from a higher, side-saddled stance with segmented gloves actions, fairly quick footwork out of the crouch and direct mid-line transfer. Gains ground towards his target, works into a longer arm action to throw and recorded arm strength up to 76 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary infielder that works downhill into the fielding process, displays some lateral range to either side and carries some momentum into release. Recorded arm strength up to 75 mph across the diamond from a three-quarters arm slot. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly crouched, open base with an even hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates small leg lift for timing and rotational lower half mechanics to get the swing started, while exhibiting a downhill swing path. Whole field approach with best impact to the middle-of-the field, flashed some present hand speed and fairly consistent feel for the barrel. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, minor refinements of his defensive skills and additional physical maturity. Excellent Student.
