Ross Barnes '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ross Barnes.  I am a junior at Glenpool High School (4A), in Glenpool, Oklahoma, which is a town of approximately 10,000 about 15 miles south of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  My athletic goal is to play baseball at the college level.  I have played baseball since I was 6 years old.  I am currently the starting Center Fielder for the Junior Varsity and am also the designated courtesy runner for our Varsity catcher.  Our Varsity team has two seniors who start in the outfield, one being a D1 signee.  This year, I have also been afforded the opportunity to play second base in some games.  I am 5'8" (and growing), 130 lbs.  I have had a great number of stolen bases this season.  I am only interested in what is best for the team, which is why my coaches have used me on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams this year.  I have a good attitude and work very hard.  I am hoping to be considered by any size of school in any geographic area.  All I want to do is play baseball.  I will be applying for financial aid, as I am one of five kids in my family.  I am somewhat undecided on my major, but I really like history.  I also have participated in the "Exceptional Child" program at Glenpool and believe I would make a good elementary school teacher.  I am not sure of my school ranking, but I currently have a 3.7 gpa.
