Hard work and teamwork are the two things on the field I hold the highest. I have seen, and continue to see, that a group of hard working brothers will always be better in crunch time than a group of self-oriented "stars". My goals are to always be the best player I can be, and to help my teammates in any way that it is needed. When I am not playing sports, training or doing school work I like to work or volunteer. Over the past year I have volunteered at my local food bank, and had a summer job working for the Eugene Emeralds (A- Chicago Cubs Affiliate). This spring I plan to umpire youth baseball games as a job for when I have days off from baseball. I believe that it will help keep me involved in the game even on my off days. In the classroom I always strive to be my best, yes it is a cliche statement but you are a student before you are an athlete. All in all I feel that I outwork my opponents mentally and physically to be the best that I can be at all times, and so that I can benefit my team however they may need.
