Hello Coaches, I would like to start by saying thank you for viewing my profile and I hope that we will be able to work together in the future. My name is Thomas Dickinson, I am currently a Senior in the High School Class of 2021 and I hope to compete in college for Men's Track and Field. I have played sports my entire life, whether it was soccer, baseball, running, etc.. I always did well and enjoyed the competition, but never felt a passion for these sports. Entering high school, I decided to continue Cross Country, but also branch out to new sports, Wrestling and Track and Field. The moment I began to compete in both, I knew that I loved them.
My love grew specifically for Track and Field. I began my Track and Field career as a Pole Vaulter. During my Freshman season, Pole Vault was the only event that I competed in. Throughout the following year, I developed an interest in Javelin. My parents were gracious enough to purchase me a javelin and I began to practice. I received basic instruction from my brother, who competed in the Decathlon in college. I began to teach myself how to throw. I studied videos of the greats, and tried to recreate their form as my own. I trained every day for as long as I could. My training transformed into success, but I had fallen short of the goals I had set for myself. This fueled a new desire for improvement.
I began to train even more vigorously, and soon heard word of a duo of coaches, who taught javelin and had great success in their teaching, The Javelin Factory. I contacted these two, exceptional coaches and soon began to train with them. Now over six months into training, I have noticed major strides in every aspect of my throw. With the help and support of these two coaches, I have the goals to win Districts, States, and to place top five at Nationals. I will continue to train as hard as possible to accomplish these goals.
Thank you Coaches, Thomas
