I have played sports since 6th grade. I did play baseball in 3,4, and 5th grade. When I hit 6th grade I got to start strength and conditioning, and at that point, I learned to be a team player. I started running track in the 7th grade and found my niche. I started getting up at 6 for workouts and continued after school. Each year I tried to improve my times each meet. I was able to run varsity my 9th grade year. I made it to Regionals for 2A my Sophmore year placing 5th. This year, my Junior year, I was ranked number 1 in 2A state, for 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. I was only able to run 5 track meets this past year, but each meets my times improved. Our coach had us competing with 5-6 A schools. I was able to keep up with the bigger schools. Had COVID-19 not happened I feel I would have progressed with my times and advanced to Texas 2A state meet.
As far as my goals go, I am passionate to compete at the highest collegiate level. I put in my profile I would like to be a coach, nurse, or speech or physical therapist. As you can see I have not made up my mind, but when I think of my future track is with me. I like to think I am dependable, and dedicated both academically and athletically. As my current coach has said there is no I in team. I truly believe this.
On a side note, aside from my academics and athletics, I have had my own mowing business with my brother. My parents helped get us started. We have mowed for 4 years and I was able to save enough cash to pay for my truck. All our clients can vouch for our dependability and dedication.
I have put time into my academics and put time aside to study to keep my grades up. I know in order to achieve my dream of running at the collegiate level this is a must. I have a 3.0-3.5 GPA.
In summary, based on the information above, I would be an asset to any team. I appreciate any consideration and thank you for your time.
