Personal Statement

My name is Kate Luyten and I am an Infielder from Australia. I started playing softball when I was about 12 years old, having played baseball from when I was 6.

I am currently a member of the U18 Australian National Team and the NSW (state) u18 team.

I am a very hardworking person in all areas of my life. I always give my best effort in everything that I do. My competitive nature and my drive to succeed has led to achievement both academically and on the softball diamond. I have great time management skills and I am proud of how I balance my school work and my training sessions. I am a great team mate, and sharing success with my team mates really motivates me.

I love every aspect of the game and I am really grateful for the opportunities I have had to play softball all around Australia and overseas. I would love to continue my career academically and playing softball in a College in the USA. I believe College softball is the highest quality of softball, and I would love to play at this level while completing my degree to secure my future in my chosen career. I would love to study Science or Engineering at College. I look forward to the opportunities that I will be able to experience while studying and playing in the USA.
