Hello, my name is Lainie Theobold, and I am a senior at Northlake Christian School in Covington, Louisiana. I have played softball for 12+ years and have always loved the sport. I intend to take my softball career to the next level by continuing to better myself athletically and academically.
I aim to be a great role model for my peers, someone that they can look up to, as well as come to me for help. I try to be the best example for my teammates by giving 110% effort, thinking clearly and performing well under high-pressured situations, and keeping a great attitude. Off the field, I do the same for my classes. I strive to keep my GPA between a 3.5-4.0, knowing that my education will help me achieve my goals of becoming an architectural engineer. As a senior, I strive for my teammates to understand how important work ethic, respect, and leadership can be, both in the classroom and on the field. I also want my teammates to understand the importance of being trustworthy, by making myself someone who they can go to for guidance, as well as a trustworthy athlete on the field who they can depend on to make the play.
Over my 12+ years of experience, I have played all over, but have mostly stayed with centerfield and pitching as a backup. I have always batted lefthand and can skillfully place a bunt anywhere that I am told. I can also slap and with the help of my speed and focus on the game, I can steal bases while not being thrown out. I can cover most of the outfield but trust my left and right fielders to cover the field as well. By giving 110% effort, I am not afraid to dive out or run into the fence for a ball. I hope to be able to further my athletic career to college and use the knowledge and guidance from coaches and peers to get even better at the sport I love.
