Personal Statement
I am a good athlete, yet I know that I am not faster and stronger than every other athlete, however I will turn your head with hard work and effort. I am the player that isn't satisfied will average and I will work harder and give more effort than most to make up that difference. I am constantly working and looking for ways that I can improve not just my mechanics but overall ability. I have very good breaking balls and I am confident enough to work the count. I've been told my change up is scary combined with my other pitches and I am not afraid to throw it in any situation. Best thing I can say about my pitching is that you can't get in my head. I pitch the same whether I am in a tight situation with bases loaded and behind in the game or whether it is the first pitch. I am a consistent batter that is always going to get a bat on the ball and work deep in the count. Once I get on base I am an extremely smart base runner and never miss an opportunity. All my coaches in the past have said I am very "coachable". I find that a big complement. I know that each person can teach me and I try to learn from every person I come in contact with. Currently in my Sophomore year I have a 3.72 GPA (unweighted) and an ACT of 20.
In 2014, I pitched 251.43 innings, struck out 397, and had an ERA of .94. My batting average is .347 with an on base percentage of .429. I had the coach of the Firecrackers team come up to me after a game in October and compliment me on a good game, I recorded the win and I struck out 17, and he told me they were looking forward to facing me again because they would be ready for me next time. We are just kicking off our season with my new team Oklahoma Twisters, we have played one weekend so far. I have an ERA of .55 with 9 innings pitched, 22 strikeouts and a 3-0 record with 1 save.
