January 2024My name is Johannah Herpeche and I am a 5' 3" catcher / utility player. My parents have raised me to have a code of faith, honesty, good work ethic, and perseverance. My goal is to play softball at the collegiate level. I started playing when I was just 5 years old on the T-Ball field, this is when I fell in love with the game. I put my first catching gear on when I played in 8U softball at the age of 6, and this is when I knew that I wanted to take it as far as I could. I have been playing ball for 11 years and catching for 10 of those years. First my goal was to be a starter catcher in High School then to get to college and get to be a starting catcher there as well. When I was 13 my dad started taking me to the batting cages to catch off of a pitching machine, I took a ball at 60mph to the inner thigh. This was a lesson that I would never forget and a true loyalty of how much I love the game. I have learned to be tough, resilient, and how to overcome obstacles. I work hard every chance I get to be better, not just at being a catcher but at hitting and fielding as well.
In addition to softball I also play volleyball. I play the back row in volleyball and can spot serve. I work as a lifeguard in the summers at one of the local pools. I love being outside and being active. Academics are of great importance to me as well. I believe that good academics will lay the foundation to help me achieve my goal to attend a college that can help me pursue my dreams of becoming a successful adult.
