Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Emily Zhao. I am so blessed and grateful for the opportunities I have been given that have allowed me to play select softball from a young age. My parents not only encourage me to focus on my academics but also let me explore my interests in team sports because it is my own responsibility to be able to balance softball and 6 AP classes. Playing softball for many years has taught me how to respect other people, how to handle losing, and how to achieve a team goal with cooperation and teamwork. With God-given talent, passion, and hard work, I have been growing mentally and physically on the field and in the classroom. I always have a very high standard for my academic and athletic activities. College will be another 4 years for me to grow so I am looking for an environment to achieve my academic goal in the Business area for my future and also fulfill my dream of playing softball in college. Versatility is definitely my biggest strength. Although I play second base most of the time, I have the ability to play outfield and shortstop. Offensively I can bunt, hit and run, move runners, steal bases, and I'm improving on hitting for power. While I am still learning and improving through my high school years, I am really excited to plan and explore the opportunities for my college and future career.
