My goal is to attend college and pursue a degree in business while playing basketball. I strive to be a positive influence just like others have been for me. I am a competitor, so winning a National Championship (or multiple) while earning my degree would be my ultimate goal.
Who am I? This can be defined in many ways.
To spectators: I am a fierce, unselfish, competitive player who desires to win.
To coaches: I am a coachable, mentally tough athlete who leads teams by example with a positive attitude and willingness to do the extra work needed to be competitive.
To teammates: I am a humble leader. I rally behind my team and strive to make each one better.
To teachers: I am determined to work hard and succeed in the classroom. I am also willing to ask for help when needed.
To friends: I am dependable, supportive, and trustworthy. I am someone who will stand up for what is right even if others do not.
To family: I am the protective, little sister who is helpful, loves to rest but will go on any adventure.
Who I am comes from my support system, starting with my family. My mom has shown me how to be unselfish and put others first. My siblings have shown me that working together will get the results you desire. My uncle has taught me how to sacrifice myself for the needs of others and my grandparents have taught me that there isn't anything I can't accomplish as long as I am willing to do the work.
I am a coach's kid. I am competitive because my mom told her athletes never to let me win, but to make me earn it. I am coachable because I have observed different coaching styles and understand it is what you say not how you say it. I am a great teammate because it takes more than one person to succeed, to win. I work hard in the classroom because unfortunately, I will not be able to play basketball forever. I am a loyal friend because being anything else just isn't worth it.
These lessons, these characteristics gives me the confidence to know that I and those around me will be successful.
