Personal Statement
Thank you for viewing my profile. One of the most transformational events of my life was when I moved 3,000 miles from California to New Jersey and left all that I knew behind to start anew. I have played soccer since I was five years old and at seven was recruited for club soccer. It wasn’t until fourth grade when we moved to New Jersey where I was first introduced to lacrosse, a sport that I didn’t know would influence me so much until my first catch. I continued to play elite club soccer but eventually found myself just as passionate about lacrosse. Playing for the #10 nationally ranked lacrosse club and the ninth-ranked soccer club in the state has taught me so many aspects about myself in terms of playing at an elite level for two sports. The most important qualities it has taught me is leadership, loyalty and compassion. For my entire life I have been a dual athlete. Lacrosse has made me into a leader which has carried over into my role as both freshman and sophomore class representative and taking leadership roles in my church. I am student with an weighted GPA of 4.02 who has taken advanced courses every year of high school and I am currently enrolled in two IB courses. I would like to attend a college/university where I can push myself on the field and in the classroom to be the best version of myself. Although my major is undecided, I am primarily interested in the areas of communications, business, and media studies. My education is very important to me and through making a final decision, I hope to continue my career path while also playing the sport that I love.
