2018 HighlightsGrowing up, I always looked at my older brother's shelves full of trophies and medals from sports and hoped that one day I would be able to be successful in a sport like him. Then when I started rowing, after trying volleyball, soccer, track and even equestrian, I felt like I had finally found my purpose. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, rowing gave me an outlet in which I could put all of my passion. Following this passion and drive that I had, I went on to be the youngest female competitor at the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta at the age of fourteen. I also established the rowing team at my high school and was the captain in my freshman year.
Going through this experience in just my freshman year has taught me a lot about perseverance, sacrifice, hard-work, and commitment. These attributes have followed me on the water and in the classroom and I look to continue doing well academically throughout high school and into college. I have the potential to be great on your team not only because of my talent in rowing but also my character and discipline.
