When I found rowing, I instantly fell in love with it. It is difficult to put such intense feelings into words to describe the "rush" through my body when I'm in a boat. The sound of the oars clicking in time, the ripples of the boat cutting through the water, the feeling of everyone working together for a common goal, the support to be the best you can on and off the water, the tension on the start line, the ache of a good piece, the friendships and relationships, the tears of joy crossing the finish line...EVERYTHING! Even through ups and downs I've never lost my love for the sport.
I have had the privilege of growing up in a very supportive family, despite an early childhood divorce. Through the obstacles I've overcome and persevered, I understand the influence they have made on who I am. My parents have provided me with opportunities to be the best person I can be. Through travels all over the world, and in our own country, I have come to understand different perspectives in cultures and how people live. This has changed who I am and who I want to become.
As long as I can remember, I've dreamt of becoming a doctor. I have since followed those same desires and it has led me to the field of pathology, specifically my decision to become a medical examiner. I welcome all opportunities that challenge me and allow me to grow while finding solutions in all aspects of life.
