Personal Statement
Sports have always been apart of my life. I have always been an abnormally competitive person, but i choose to see that as a blessing rather than a burden. I definitely consider myself as a team player. In anything I do, regardless of sports, I strive to do my absolute best. I strive for greatness and never except failure. If I don't know how to do something, I work on it until I'm one of the best at it. However, I believe that I'm am a very humble person and I think God every day for what he has blessed me with.
My freshman year in track, I started out conditioning on our football field (my school doesn't have a track). Every track meet was practice for me in my events. As the season progressed on I maintained a can do attitude and performed the best I could at each meet. Saying that, my times for the 300 hurdles and jumps for the long jump continued to excell. Finally, I found myself competing at the 2014 2A State Championships.I went on to win both events as a freshman. Becoming a State Champion was always a dream of mine, but i had no idea that I would accomplishment that goal in track and at the age of 15.
Regardless if i would have placed dead last at every meet, i will never give up on bettering myself in anything i do. I see myself as a very coachable athlete, and I refuse to let my teammates down. Saying that, if a meet or game isn't going well, I tend to take matters into my own hands and make it happen. College sports has always been a dream, and each day i find some way to better myself so i can make it to where i want to go.
Not only am I a successful athlete, but a student as well. I have managed to maintain a 4.0 average throughout my middle school and high school career (I'm only a sophomore). Grades have always been important to me and i refuse to get a B in any class. Some may think thats ridiculous, but i require my best in anything I do, that is just how i am wired.
