Personal Statement
I have been able to compete on my schools varsity track team for 3 years now. In eighth grade I competed at the varsity level and took third in the state meet, I them came back freshman year and took first at the state meet. Sophomore year was a little rougher and it was a learner and growth year for me, not only did I grow and an athlete but I also grew as a person in my faith and leadership skills. Sophomore year I ended up taking eighth in my first ever pentathlon out of 30 girls, and I feel in love with it, and I plan on continuing my training in the pentathlon. Not only has track been a huge part of my life and shaped me to the person and leader I am now, but another big part in my life has been FCA and Best Buddies. I am and FCA officer at my school and if has taught me how do be a good leader and how I can guide others to God and his word. The Club Best Buddies has taught me how I can be more inclusive and is showed me just how special everyone is and that are differences are unique and we should embrace them. Although I have grown a lot in just my first 2 years of high school, I am proud of the person I am becoming and I hope to grow even more in the rest of my junior year and all the way through my senior year!
